I’ve just added online classes and I’m so excited! I’ve got the beginning quilting class ready to go. It’s 15 weeks and very comprehensive. When you’re done, you’ve got a beautiful twin size quilt and have learned many of the basic piecing and quilting techniques. Check it out by using the link at the left. New Design On The Way!

I just finished writing the pattern for a new quilt. I’ll be pulling loads of fat quarters tomorrow! It combines very basic blocks with beautiful folk art type applique. I think I’ll quilt it with variegated embroidery thread in fall colors. Can’t wait to get started! Here’s a sneak peek!

I’ve also changed all the shipping information. All patterns ship FREE in the US via First Class Mail, or if you need it faster, you can upgrade to Priority Mail for postage fees.

It’s been a pretty busy week so far, and I don’t see it slowing down!

Also, my youngest son is testing for his green belt this Friday. Good Luck! He’s been a martial artist for almost two years now and absolutely loves it. He’s so excited

I’ve been busy working on a kit I purchased at one of my favorite quilt shops. It’s the Shop Hop quilt from 2006. I didn’t do the hop, but they had the kits for $25 last year, so I picked one up It came out pretty nice! Just have to decide how I want to quilt it and with what type of thread.

Now I’m working on another quilt…”Semi-Precious Stones”. I’ve got the blocks made and am spending today putting them together. This one will definitely be quilted with embroidery thread. I’ll post a picture when it’s quilted

August Already?

Can it possibly be August already? How time flies! I’m still plugging away at quilting some pinned quilts and am down to the final three. I think they’re all going to be quilted with embroidery thread. I just love the little shine it has!

I’ve also completed a quilt for The Quilter magazine and sent it on it’s merry little way this past Monday. I have added 4 new quilt patterns to the site ( 1 throw, 2 bed, and 1 wall quilt).

For those of you that don’t know, I have a Janome 6600P sewing machine. Last week I got a couple new parts for it, and they are fantastic! I got the bobbin case and foot for free motion quilting. OH the difference they make! It’s unbelievable. No more mucking about with the upper tension on the machine, no more eyelashing or dots on the back of the quilt, and no more glare from the plastic FMQ foot that came with the machine…all in all a real plus all the way around. Every time I get a new part for my machine, I fall in love all over again.

Guess I’m going to go play with my toys some more. See you all next week when the next part of the BOM comes out!

Here’s one of the tops that got finished. It’s for my mom’s 89th birthday which was today! Happy Birthday Mom!

Well, here we are! It’s July and quilting has been good this month. At the moment I have four tops pinned, and am almost finished quilting the first one. I’ll post pics when I get it out from under the sewing machine.
